• Page 3 line 25: 'observe 26' should be 'observe 11'.
• Page 30 in figure 1.11: The label of the Y-axis should be "f_X(x)".
• Page 61 Problem 1.37, line 2: There should not be a minus sign.
• Page 71 1st paragraph section 2.4.2, line 5: "m" should be "n".
• Page 73 in equation (2.35): "m!" should be "k!".
• Page 73 2nd line from bottom of page. "X_i=(x₁,..., x_i)" should be "X_i=(X₁,..., Xi)"
• Page 75 first line, "f_X1(x)" should be "f_X1(x₁)"
• Page 115 Note: S² is used interchangeably with .
• Page 125 It should be stated that there is an (implicit) change of notation on page 125. The "t" distribution in eqn (3.29) has n degrees of freedom, not (as might be expected from the preceding lines) n-1 degrees of freedom.
• Page 160 equation (4.17): e^{{λ t}} should be e^{{-λ t}}
• Page 160 equation (4.18): (m-j-1) should be (m-j+1).
• Page 190 The reference to eqn (1.53) in line 3 of page 190 should be to eqn (5.13).
• Page 193 The upper terminals in the integration (5.25) on page 193 are incorrect. They should be replaced (from outermost to innermost) by 1-(g-1)u, v₂, v₃, ..., v_g, where v_i = w_i - (g-i)u, i = 2, 3, ..., g.
• Page 218 problem 5.13: The reference in the third line should be to equation (5.84), not (5.85).
• Page 223 bottom paragraph states "...[there] are five of these: the subsequences 'a' in position 3, ..." which should read "... are six of them: the subsequences 'g' in position 1, 'a' in position 3, ..."
• Page 267 equation (7.38). The first "+" sign should be removed, the second should be changed into a "-".
• Page 267 equation (7.40). Both "+" signs should be changed to "-" signs.
• Page 279 equation (8.6). The capital X's should have subscripts 1, 2, ..., n.
• Page 301 problem 8.6 (iii): (16- π²/16 π²) should be (16- π²/16 λ²).
• Page 453 line 7: V ' should be V⁰.
• Page 453 line 11: V₀ should be V⁰.
• Page 454 line 6: "variainces" should be "variances".
• Page 458 Formula (13.7) and the formula preceding it: the subscript on P should be "(i)" indicating the i-th ranked p-value.
• Page 458 Formula (13.8): the subscript on T should be "(i)" indicating the i-th ranked p-value.
